The narrative beauty inherent in the exhibition, The Works of Whitfield Lovell: All Things in Time, on view at the Hudson River Museum from September 27, 2008 to May 10, 2009, will serve as impetus for original poetry and prose by local writers studying at the Hudson Valley Writers’ Center and at Manhattanville College’s Dowd/O’Gorman Writing Center. The culminating event—a guided tour of the exhibition, followed by a reading of the commissioned poems—will take place from 2:30 5:00 p.m. at the Museum on Sunday, November 16, 2008.

A half-hour open mic (sign up begins at 2:15 p.m.; 3-minute time limit), for anyone wishing to share writing created in response to Mr. Lovell’s work, will follow the reading.

The event is free with museum admission (Adult - $5; Seniors and Children - $3) and includes light refreshments.

The Hudson River Museum is located at 511 Warburton Avenue, Yonkers, New York.

Programs and events at The Hudson Valley Writers’ Center are made possible, in part, by grants from the Bydale Foundation, the David G. Taft Foundation, and the Orchard Foundation; with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a State Agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts; and by the Basic Program Support Grant of the Westchester Arts Council with funds from Westchester County Government.
