The Good Nanny is sure to amuse everyone, but particularly Westchester residents, who will recognize many of the sites and characters. High-achieving parents may especially relate to the Cross parents and their discomfort with a nanny who is actually too good. (“The only thing she can’t make is a mistake.”) Cheever’s previous novels are The Plagiarist, The Partisan, and Famous After Death. His memoir, Selling Ben Cheever, was published in 2001. He is also the editor of The Letters of John Cheever. He has been a journalist and an editor at Reader’s Digest, and he has taught at Bennington College and New School University. He lives in Pleasantville.
