Dear Friend of the Writers' Center: The Benefit Committee of The Hudson Valley Writers' Center is busy preparing for its annual Autumn Celebration, to be held on Friday, November 3rd at the Sleepy Hollow Country Club. We hope that you will consider helping us make the 2006 Celebration the most successful ever. This year's gala, a Hudson Valley-themed dinner, dance, and silent auction, honors one of our founding board members and a long-time supporter, Professor Nicholas Robinson. Founder of the environmental legal studies program at Pace University, Professor Robinson chaired and organized the Greenway Heritage Conservancy for the Hudson River Valley, as well as the Freshwater Wetlands Appeals Board. He currently is Chair of the Academy of Environmental Law of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources. His expertise often takes him to the far reaches of the globe, but he remains devoted to the Hudson Valley, and wherever he goes he is an advocate not only for the environment but also for the joys and transforming powers of writing and reading. Those who have attended this event in past years know to expect terrific food, drink, music and dancing in a fairy-tale setting. They also know the fun to be had by bidding on an exciting variety of auction items donated by local merchants and other supporters of the Writers' Center. The basic ticket price this year is $200. A table of ten receives a discounted price of $1800 ($180 per person). Other attendee and advertiser packages are available -- please contact us for details. Payment can be made by cash, check, or money order, and can be dropped off at the Writers' Center or mailed to us at 300 Riverside Drive, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591. Our Benefit Committee is currently gathering items for this year's silent auction. If you would like to support the Writers' Center as well as promote your business by donating an item or service, please e-mail us, call us at (914) 332-5953, or use this donation form. If you are interested in advertising in the Benefit Program, which lists and describes the year's auction items and is distributed to all Benefit attendees, please contact us or use this advertising form. All members of the Writers' Center and past attendees will automatically be sent an invitation to this year's event. This is the Writers' Center's most important fundraiser of the year, so your great time also promotes a great cause. It is a party for everyone - especially you!
