Taste of Bordeaux
Dine
with Bordeaux’s finest winemakers and taste treasures from their cellars
|
We are honored to welcome Marcel Ducasse of Chateau Lagrange and Emmanuel Cruse of Chateau D’ Issan to Westchester to host a dinner featuring their wines, including treasures from the Chateaux’s own cellars. The quality of the wines is pushing Chef Mark Filippo at Cafe Mezé to put together a menu to complement them. Since we are lucky enough to have wine from two of Bordeaux’s finest properties, each course will have two main themes. The crab course, for instance, features the restaurant's signature crab cakes (pure lump crabmeat seasoned with tiny shards of pepper) paired with the perfect light crab salad. Accompanying the bright, young 1995s, is a choice of beef or pheasant, also prepared two ways. And if you want something other than meat, you can order Cafe Mezé’s glorious artichoke ravioli with its decadent sauce of truffle butter. The French like to show off their older wines with cheese. We will be serving wines from Bordeaux’s golden age, the 1980s, with a selection of artisanal cheeses. We’ll start with the amazing 1989 D’Issan and conclude with the superb 1986 Lagrange, wines that show how beautifully older Bordeaux can age.
