Celebrate
the holidays and new year, Latin style, with one of Westchester’s writing
stars, Esmeralda Santiago, author of When I Was Puerto Rican,
Almost a Woman, The Turkish Lover and several anthologies, including
Las Christmas.
Joining her will be musician Eddie Rosa and his group, Renacer Trovero, of Brooklyn. Rosa’s high spirits and the passion he feels for the traditional literary and musical forms of his culture make everyone feel at home, whatever their own traditions might be.
This
event has grown too big for the Writers’ Center, so we’ve moved it to
Warner Library (on Rt. 9 in Tarrytown, just south of Patriot Park). It
will include stories, music, dancing, and traditional refreshments.
A mix of English and Spanish will be spoken and the HVWC and Warner Library hope for a real mix of our total community—including children and teens!
