The
Hudson Valley Writers' Center presents
Men
and Women—Still Words Apart
a benefit performance by
John Cunningham and
Frances Sternhagen
|
Most pieces will be from contemporary writers such as Woody Allen, Robert Anderson (I'm Herbert), Romulus Linney (Tennessee), Neil Simon (The Good Doctor), and Oscar Wilde. But since the event is at Washington Irving's home 221 years after his birth, they may also include squabbles between Rip and Dame Van Winkle and other Irving characters. Cunningham has had leading roles in 18 Broadway shows including the Tony award-winning Titanic. He has performed Shakespeare for three seasons in Stratford, CT, and is a recurring legal presence on TV's Law and Order. Among his 20 films are Mystic Pizza, Dead Poets’ Society, Jackal, and Two Weeks Notice. Sternhagen's many film credits include Starting Over with Burt Reynolds, Outland with Sean Connery, and Doc Hollywood with Michael J. Fox. Her TV credits include ER, Cheers, and Sex and the City. She also has a very active career on the stage. Reservations for all seats are being taken at 914-631-8200, Ext. 618. For other information, contact the HVWC at 914-332-5953. |
