The Hudson Valley Writers' Center needs your support
Your gift to the Writers' Center supports literary outreach programs to underserved young people, strengthens our offerings to authors at every stage of artistic development and professional growth, builds audiences for the publications and events of Slapering Hol Press, and keeps vibrant our community of poets and writers.
Just listen to these kids at Sleepy Hollow's LIFE Center after-school program talking about how meangingful HVWC's writing workshops there have been to them:

The Writers' Center is a must for aspiring writers trying to hone their craft, and at the same time belonging to a community of writers that support and encourage each other. And I would be remiss if I did not say what a wonderful teacher and mentor Sergio is. Thank you, Hudson Valley Writers' Center for making me a better writer.
_Laurence Williams, student
It was exactly the kind of workshop I was looking for.
_Kathleen Williamson, reading attendee
It changed my life outside the class. It's just really valuable. Lynne Lori Sylvan said something about being present to other people; that's what it's all about. It's so exciting; it was such a joy.
_Teresa McAleenan, improv student
It was so fun to share and be part of this community.
_Christina Ortolani, open mic participant
The writing workshop taught me how to be not afraid to share my life with people and I got a little better with my handwriting and lost a bit of stage fright.
_Jake, youth outreach student
Writing can take anyone to the zoo, space, the city, and many places that you go to in your mind.
