Join us at Kendal on Hudson for this special party honoring Jean and her extensive career as a writer and as one of our distinguished instructors at the Writers’ Center.

Jean is the author of over two dozen books for young people and is particularly known for her historical biographies, which the School Library Journal says have “blown like a fresh breeze across the children’s book world...(she) has changed the face of the map.” She has also written an autobiography, Homesick, about her childhood years in China, which was a 1983 Newbery Medal Honor Book and the recipient of an American Book Award and many other awards. In 2003, she was presented with the National Humanities Medal.

The party begins at 1:00 p.m. at The Bistro at Kendal on Hudson in Sleepy Hollow. For reservations phone 914-332-5953. Click here for directions to Kendal. Admission is free.
