Celebrate
the holidays and new year, Latin style, with Esmeralda Santiago,
author of When I Was Puerto Rican, Almost a Woman, The Turkish Lover,
América's Dream, and A Doll for Navidades. With Joie Davidow,

an award-winning screenwriter and essayist, whose adaptation of Almost
a Woman for PBS Masterpiece Theatre: The American Collection won a

This annual event outgrew the Writers' Center four years ago and is now at John Paulding Elementary School at 154 North Broadway in Tarrytown (see link to directions below).
Esmeralda's sister, Delsa Santiago, will again prepare traditional foods, and they will be joined by their youngest brother, Ralph Martinez (called Ciro in Esmeralda's memoirs), who will help provide traditional music in the band led by Frankie Figueroa, aka "Mister Estilo."
There
will be stories and dancing and a mix of English and Spanish will be spoken.
Bring your own holiday stories to share in either language.
