The Hudson Valley Writers' Center presents
Poetry Potluck
with
Carmela Ciuraru
Friday, March 30th, 7:00 pm

How very lucky we are to have Carmela Ciuraru, editor of First Loves, back with us on the eve of National Poetry Month to allow YOU to do what the poets in her book did - share the poems that helped them fall in love with poetry. Older children and teens are most welcome and the informal potluck format will let you feed body and soul.

Ms. Ciuraru was here last fall with poets Marie Ponsot and Vijay Seshadri, and warmed by the crowd and the setting, she offered to come back. Her experiences performing "Poetry Theatre" in college and as the editor of the biannual journal of the Poetry Society of America certainly qualify her to help us kick off this new event, but her greatest assets are the charm and enthusiasm that draw everyone to her cause.

Bring a poem, something for the beverage or food table (or $3 pp), and let's create together our own celebration of poetry's power!

suggested donation: $3 or an item for the food or beverage table

This event made possible in part by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, Westchester Arts Council with funds from Westchester County Government, corporations and individuals and with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a State Agency. Additional funding has been provided by The Bydale Foundation.
