Pete Seeger belongs to the world, but he lives just upriver in Beacon, NY, and we are thrilled to have this 81-year-old icon of folk music visit our intimate space. With him will be Paul Jacobs, who helped write the just-published Pete Seeger's Storytelling Book, and composer/musician David Bernz. We'll gather 'round the fireplace to enjoy stories and songs (including such Seeger classics as "Where Have All the Flowers Gone," "If I Had a Hammer," and "Turn, Turn, Turn") and a book-signing will follow.

Pete is recognized not only for the quality of his own work but for popularizing "We Shall Overcome," "Guantanamera," Woody Guthie's "This Land Is Your Land," and Huddie Ledbetter's "Goodnight Irene." His awards include the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and in '94 the National Medal of the Arts and the Kennedy Center Honors. Pete is a founder of the Weavers, a group that brought folk music to the largest audience it ever enjoyed in the U. S., and Paul and David are both members of the extended Weavers "family."

Pete is also famous as the founder of Hudson River Clearwater, so what a special treat to enjoy his songs and stories right here beside the river he loves!

Admission $10 ($20 for a family of four or less)
