Slapering Hol Press, the small press imprint of The Hudson Valley Writers' Center, was founded in 1990 to publish emerging poets and thematic anthologies. It celebrates some of the best new poets by presenting their work in finely crafted chapbooks and volumes.

Since 1991 Slapering Hol (Old Dutch for Sleepy Hollow) has held an annual Chapbook Competition for emerging poets. The 2010 winning chapbook is Driving Montana, Alone by Katie Philips.
