Simon Winchester
and Ruth Ozeki

How fortunate that these two writers occasionally pass through New York from their homes in Scotland (Winchester) and British Columbia (Ozeki),and how exciting to get them here together at the HVWC!

The explosion, the most catastrophic eruption in history, continues to impact our world and proves a worthy subject for Winchester’s talent.

Ruth Ozeki, whose first novel, My Year of Meats, won her immediate acclaim and devotion, has just published All Over Creation, a both serious and humorous novel about agribusiness and genetically engineered food. It features Yumi Fuller (nicknamed “Yummy”), a Japanese-American prodigal daughter and single mother of three mixed-race children, returning to the Idaho farm she fled some 25 years earlier. The imaginative Ozeki has gone from meat to potatoes!
