The Hudson Valley Writers' Center presents a reading with
Daniel Wolfe
and other members of the HVWC Memoir Writing Class

Friday, June 10th, 2005, 7:30 pm

Cold Ground's Been My Bed by Daniel WolfeLike Robert Klein (June 9th), Dan Wolfe is from the Bronx, but his tale is a darker one. Three years after high school, he was sent to Korea, where he fought courageously, won a Bronze Star, and grew up fast. Members of the HVWC Memoir Writing class, taught by Joan Potter of Mount Kisco, celebrate the publication of their classmate’s newly published book, Cold Ground’s Been My Bed: A Korean War Memoir (a title taken from a blues song sung by his first bunker buddy on the front line). Besides Wolfe, now of Bronxville, readers are Laura Carraro and Linda Knapp of Sleepy Hollow, Pat Ryan (Irvington), and Julia Mallach (Somers).

All readings include a question & answer period and a reception with books by the author(s) for sale.

Admission free

The readings at the HVWC are made possible in part by a grant from the Bydale Foundation; the David G. Taft Foundation; the Orchard Foundation; and the Thendara Foundation; with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a State Agency; and by Westchester Arts Council with funds from Westchester County Government, corporations and individuals.
