Mini Retreat: Restorative Yoga & Creative Expression with Angela Derecas Taylor (in person at HVWC)

The first hour is Restorative Yoga class suitable for adults of all ages and abilities. The second hour will be dedicated to creative expression of the participants choice: mandala coloring, vision collaging or open writing from prompts. Tea will be served during the creative expression phase of the workshop. Teacher provides all props for the Restorative Yoga and crafting materials to include crayons, colored markers and pencils, a selection of printouts of mandalas of varying difficulty from very easy to very intricate, blank heavy stock collage paper, glue sticks, scissors, magazines and other crafty things, and writing pads / implements (although participants are welcome to bring their laptops for writing if preferred). For the Yoga practice, participants need ONLY bring their own Yoga mat and a pillow in a pillow case. Maximum of 8 participants in this group.

Angela Derecas Taylor is a native New Yorker of Italian and Greek descent, hailing from 1960’s Greenwich Village, where she was raised in a family of restaurateurs. Her professional life includes a career as chef, caterer and event planner, first on luxury charter yachts and then in luxury resorts and historic hotels, including the Waldorf-Astoria. After a mid-life career change, Angela has served as executive assistant to the mayor of New Rochelle since 2006. She is also a certified Yoga instructor, offering classes, workshops and retreats in the lower Hudson Valley.
As a writer and spoken word performance artist, Angela shares stories about all of the above. Her stories have been published in The Westchester Review, Breadcrumbs Online Magazine and Read650
