What New Form Is Your Subject Looking for? With Sharon Dolin (via Zoom)

“In poetry you have a form looking for a subject and a subject looking for a form,” writes W.H. Auden.In this workshop we’ll try out several twenty-first century poetic forms such as the Bop, the Golden Shovel, and the Fib to see how form itself can influence and inspire what we feel an urgency to say.

Sharon Dolin is the author of several poetry collections, including Manual for Living (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2016); Whirlwind (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2012); Burn and Dodge (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2008), which was selected by Bob Hicok for the 2007 Donald Hall Prize for Poetry; and Heart Work (Sheep Meadow Press, 1995). Dolin is the recipient of a Witter Bynner Fellowship from the Library of Congress and a grant from the PEN/Heim Translation Fund. She currently teaches workshops at Poets House and in the Writing About Art in Barcelona workshops. She lives in New York City.
