Jericho Brown Scholars’ Creative Writing Workshop for High School Poets of Color taught by Nathan McClain via Zoom

Pulitzer Prize winning poet, Jericho Brown, through his generosity to the Hudson Valley Writers Center, has made it possible for ten lucky high school students of color to take a 4-week creative writing workshop with award-winning Four Way Books poet, Nathan McClain.
Participants can expect to read poems by Olena Katyiak Davis, Elizabeth Bishop, Shira Erlichman, and Leila Chatti, and Jericho Brown among others. Packets will be provided prior to the workshop.
Please note: Ten scholarships will be awarded to BIPOC high school students living within the US. Please notify us right away if your plans change and you cannot attend the class. Please apply with two sample poems and a brief essay about why you want to study poetry with Nathan this summer. Apply here.
Nathan McClain is a poet, editor, and educator living in Amherst, Massachusetts. He is the author of Scale (Four Way Books, 2017), and his poems have recently appeared, or are forthcoming, in New York Times Magazine, Poem-a-Day, The Common, West Branch Wired, upstreet, and Foundry, among others.
