WELCOME TO THE HVWC CALENDAR: home of all our upcoming readings, events and workshops. You can view by list or calendar (see right menu to choose). Click the colored tabs below to show only specific options. Our workshops run as multi-session series or one-day “intensives.” Note, we list the multi-session courses on the first day they meet only. The full dates of the session are described in the course descriptions. You would need to scroll back to the start date if you needed to enroll for something already underway. But do let us know if you want to join something in midstream since we need the blessing of the instructor. Questions? Email us.

Join us for this special one-day program designed for beginning and aspiring meditators, as well as people who want to deepen their meditation practice. The workshop will include talks, practice sessions, interviews, discussion, and guided meditations that support building a daily practice with compassion and openness. This workshop is presented in collaboration with the Westchester Meditation Center (WMC) and led by one of WMC’s three senior teachers, Gene Bobker.
The meditation technique taught in this workshop is traditional, dating from the time of the Buddha. We emphasize an experiential Buddhism, one focused on ordinary, daily life. We offer an extended path of study and practice.
Our path is based on the teachings of the late Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche, who devoted his life to the transmission of the essence of Buddhism, especially for Western students. He taught extensively in North America and authored dozens of books on a broad array of topics on the spiritual path.
We welcome new and old students alike from any and all backgrounds to our regular weekly gatherings, whether they are just curious about meditation or are already well-versed in their practice. WMC is dedicated to diversity, equity, inclusion, and fostering belonging for all. Everyone is invited. Differences and unique perspectives are embraced.
Lunch is provided as part of the registration fee between 12-1pm on this date. Please be in touch to [email protected] if you have specific dietary needs. Beverages will also be provided, though participants may want to bring their own water bottle as well.
Covid 19 policy: This page will be updated as we get closer to the event. We will ask participants to follow the prevailing Covid guidance in place at the time. These precautions may include the showing of vaccination status or the wearing of masks.
