WELCOME TO THE HVWC CALENDAR: home of all our upcoming readings, events and workshops. You can view by list or calendar (see right menu to choose). Click the colored tabs below to show only specific options. Our workshops run as multi-session series or one-day “intensives.” Note, we list the multi-session courses on the first day they meet only. The full dates of the session are described in the course descriptions. You would need to scroll back to the start date if you needed to enroll for something already underway. But do let us know if you want to join something in midstream since we need the blessing of the instructor. Questions? Email us.

The Voice in Stereo: Collaborative Poetry Workshop with Kendra DeColo and Tyler Mills (via Zoom)

October 30 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Free – $124
In this two-hour workshop, you will think about how the music, imagery, myth, and stories of two poets can unify into poems in stereo. How can a poem be truly collaborative yet read like a coherent whole? How can we trust the poem to come to life when we write in a team? What are some nuts and bolts considerations about process when writing with a peer? This session is open to poets who want to collaborate and don’t yet have a collaborator (we will team you up with poets in class!), and it is open to teams who are already working on projects.
Please note: Two person of color scholarships and one need-based scholarship are given on a first come, first served basis to writers living within the US. Please notify us right away if your plans change and you cannot attend the class. We will then reopen the slot so another student may register. Thank you in advance for this consideration.  Please refer to our Scholarships page before registering for Person of Color Scholarship or Need Based Scholarship. Thank you.
