Click the colored tabs below to show only specific options. Our workshops run as multi-session series or one-day “intensives.” Note, we list the multi-session courses on the first day they meet only. The full dates of the session are described in the course descriptions. You would need to scroll back to the start date if you needed to enroll for something already underway. Open Mic (in person & via Zoom)

We are excited to hold November’s Open Mic Night in hybrid form, both in-person at HVWC and virtually!
Physical and virtual doors open at 7:20 pm for event starting at 7:30 pm. Due to popular demand to participate, we’ve had to limit the amount of readers to 20.
Performers will be given a 5 minute spot. In person performers, via Zoom, will give be the first group to perform. The audience on Zoom will see these performances via the Zoom event. Once the in person list has performed, virtual performances will commence. The in person audience at HVWC will be able to see their virtual counterparts via the new technology that we have installed at HVWC.
We will have a virtual audience as well as a live audience! Virtual audience seats are free and unlimited, as long as you pre-register below. The Zoom link will be sent at the time of registration, as well as the day prior to the event. In-person audience seats are also available, free of charge but in limited capacity by pre-registration only, and not at the door.
Please note that all in-person attendees — performers or audience — will be required to wear a mask as well as show proof of vaccination at the time of entry. (Proof of vaccination includes Excelsior Pass or a photo / hard copy of the completed vaccination card.) Please visit our Covid-19 policies page for complete details.
All genres welcome — fiction, non-fiction, poetry, music, comedy, storytelling, other. Open Mic will give you an opportunity to share your talents in a nurturing, comfortable space with some great people. Bill Buschel is your host.
