About the event
This is a 4-week course meeting from 12:00-2:00 p.m. ET on the following Sundays: January 10, 17, 24, and 31.
Poems don't have to sit politely in one column, obeying the "rules" of poetry. In this four-week Zoom workshop, we'll bend those rules on purpose. Week by week, we'll work with fragments and white space, invented words and wordplay, visual and spatial forms, and multilingual and translingual writing. Using a small set of contemporary poems as models, we'll respond to guided prompts and share our drafts in a supportive workshop group. You'll leave with a draft portfolio of new poems and a toolkit for taking risks with poetic form. Beginners and experienced poets are welcome.
