About the event
There is nothing so beautiful as translating a foreign language into your own language! In this class we work on translating poems from any language into English. To begin, we work on poems already translated; so that the existing texts can serve as a comparison. We talk about voice, rhythm, style, tone and diction level; we learn the pleasures of perusing dictionaries and thesauruses. All levels of skill and experience are welcome.
This 3-hour class will meet on Zoom on the following Sundays: Sept. 28, Oct. 12, Oct. 26, Nov. 9, Nov. 23, and Dec. 7.
Time: 1:30 to 4.30 p.m.
