About the event
We are living through the rise of authoritarianism, climate catastrophe, war, artificial intelligence taking over with no guardrails. Poetry is a consolation, but sometimes we also need to laugh. Because poetry and comedy rely on the uniqueness of a human voice, they also help fight the dehumanizing forces of AI. In this workshop, we will talk about the interesting and longstanding relationship between poetry and comedy, read funny poems and not- so-funny poems, write, maybe laugh and/or cry and come out with a few new poem drafts.
