Book Launch and Artist Showcase: The Pirate Rabbi

We welcome local author David Sherrin to read from his new book The Pirate Rabbi, inspired by the story of the real 16th century pirate rabbi Samuel Pallache. It will be great preparation for International Talk Like a Pirate day on September 19th! The picture book, most appropriate for ages 4-8, follows the young rabbi as he navigates both of his dream --pirate and rabbi-- in order to serve his community and help others. This event will also include live music by Zimbabwean R&B/Soul singer Sambiri as well as a showcase of pieces by local artist Lydia Rivera and photographer Paola Chapdelaine. 

This event is suitable for people of all ages and families with children. The book will be available for purchase onsite directly from the author, who’ll be happy to sign it. A maximum of 70 tickets will be available (The ticket fee goes to support the Hudson Valley Writers…
