About the event
A vivid image—word-picture—makes the reader experience your poem and remember your poem. An image can be beautiful or shocking or mysterious—or all three. But an image can also invite the poet to explore ideas and associations, that is, to open a door in your poem and discover an entirely new room!
We will read and discuss several poems in which the image functions to develop and deepen the poem. We will use these poems as writing prompts, in a playful, productive, supportive group. Count on making discoveries that will keep you writing for the rest of the year!
