About the event

Luminations: Writing the Windows Project is an ekphrastic poetry project curated by poet, professor, and Hudson Valley Writers Center (HVWC) Program Director, Dominika Wrozynski. Ekphrastic poetry is often produced in response to--or about--works of art. Wrozynski has partnered with the Union Church of Pocantico Hills to curate a group of 10 poets to write among—and about—the Church's one-of-a-kind historic Chagall and Matisse windows. (https://hudsonvalley.org/historic-sites/union-church-of-pocantico-hills/). The poets will give a reading on November 1, at 4:00 p.m., in the Union Church.

Participating poets include: Ann Bookman, Marion Brown, Peggy Ellsberg, Marilyn Johnson, Iain Haley Pollock, Sean Singer, Margo Taft Stever, Phylisha Villanueva, and Kathryn Weld.

All proceeds from ticket sales will go towards funding HVWC and Union Church programming. It is Halloween weekend in Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow--please give yourself extra driving time.

Please contact Dominika Wrozynski with all questions: dominika@writerscenter.org.
