About the event
This workshop on the series poem comprises--like the genre itself-- various approaches to considering how parts can make a whole. Whether it’s within a single poem, a sequence, succession--or even a crown of sonnets!--fragments, elements, and sections are effective ways to accumulate, catalogue, and convey image and meaning. Join us, as we explore this variable and fascinating form. We’ll be inspired to write our own series poems by the
likes of Louise Glück, Lorine Niedecker, Muriel Rukeyser, Hart Crane, Marilyn Nelson, and Rainer Maria Rilke, among others.
This online generative poetry workshop will run for 6 weeks, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on July 14, 21, 28, August 4, 11, and 18.
