Poems of the Air: The Poetics of Feathers & Flight with Brian Turner (Zoom)

From the birds that sing and nest and fly into our poems to our planetary journey through the cosmos, in this generative workshop we’ll focus on the nature of flight and how we might explore the experience of flight in our verses. Along the way, I’ll do my best to share foundational lessons I’ve learned from poets and thinkers over the past 40 years of study—with the hope that these approaches and insights might offer inroads into your own creative journey. In advance of the workshop, you’ll receive a packet of poems from a variety of authors in the field, and I only ask that you bring your favorite writing tools to the conversation—along with your own profound curiosity.
