Poetry of the Wild with Ana Flores (In Person at HVWC)

Poetry of the Wild is an environmental art project created by Ana Flores that has travelled throughout the United States since 2003. The core of the project is focused on the creation of poetry boxes made by the community and then installed as a trail through the local landscape. Each box includes a poem, often featuring local writers, plus a journal. The poets involved in the project through the years have been both published and unpublished, ages 9 through eighty years old, and the public has always been invited to write in the journals.

The installations are temporary, lasting 2-6 months. Creating the boxes, making trails, and monitoring inspire collaborations between different groups and encourage walking, land stewardship, and poetry appreciation.
