Grades 3-5
In this hands-on workshop, students will create interactive zines (ZEENS), small, self-made books with flaps, fold-outs, pockets, and hidden messages. Instead of simply reading them, you open, lift, and explore what’s inside.
Each day, students will learn a new way to make their zines interactive and create a short zine using that technique. Through simple, guided prompts, they’ll explore how to shape an idea across pages—deciding what a reader sees first, what is hidden, and what is revealed along the way. Students can choose to make something funny, mysterious, or personal, working in any style—stories, comics, poetry, or visual art—whether fictional or based on real life.
