Sat, Nov 15

In this generative workshop, we’ll focus on dreamscapes, poems of the underworld within, that state where language and image meld as story gives way to song. We’ll also read and consider approaches to the landscape of memory, memory palaces, the housing of experience in language.

About the event
In this generative workshop, we’ll focus on dreamscapes, poems of the underworld within, that state where language and image meld as story gives way to song. We’ll also read and consider approaches to the landscape of memory, memory palaces, the housing of experience in language. Along the way, I’ll do my best to share foundational lessons I’ve learned from poets and thinkers over the past 40 years of study—with the hope that these approaches and insights might offer inroads into your own creative journey. In advance of the workshop, you’ll receive a packet of poems from a variety of authors in the field, and I only ask that you bring your favorite writing tools to the conversation—along with your own profound curiosity.
