Two-Critique: A 6-Week Fiction Workshop with Austyn Wohlers (Zoom)

The art of fiction is the art of revision: you can’t edit something into a good piece of writing before sitting down and making something happen with the page. In this class, we will focus on one short story or novel excerpt per student and workshop it twice, helping each other take our pieces from rough to polished drafts. Students should come to class prepared to submit writing they intend to refine. Additionally, this class functions as a general fiction course where we will share fundamental approaches to plot, character, dialogue, and style, and complete several generative exercises together.

This is a 6-week workshop, meeting on Zoom from 6:00-8:00 p.m. (EST) on January 7, 14, 21, 28, February 4, and February 11.
