About the event
Vivid characterization makes a story memorable, rich, and real -- readers will follow a well-developed character just about anywhere. We'll discuss recommended reading (articles, blog posts, podcast episodes) and our own favorite characters in literature and beyond, examining ways that characterization moves a story forward. Then we'll work together through exercises that include stage, screen, and journalistic techniques, connecting interior life to actions, and fostering the creation of full-bodied, authentic, and memorable characters.
