About the event
You have a tremendous idea for a work of historical fiction! Now take the next steps in building the rules of this fictional world, create pioneering fiction characters and infuse research in a cohesive and seamless fashion in the narrative! In this six-week workshop, students will outline, shape and research their historical fiction creative work-in-progress. We will also do a deep dive and review the rules of a historical fiction narrative and assess how our projects might add to the continuing conversation in the literary canon. Students can anticipate a take home draft of an outline and/or the first chapter of their historical fiction novel-in-progress upon the conclusion of this course.
This course will meet on Zoom for 6-weeks on the following dates: 4/8, 4/15, 4/22, 4/29, 5/6, 5/13.
