2025 HVWC Residency Reunion & Reading

Dear HVWC Community,

In June 2025, HVWC hosted its first-ever Writing Residency, in partnership with the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and the Pocantico Center. Sixteen writers and four award-winning faculty members (Chen Chen, Nick Flynn, Ananda Lima, and Brian Turner) lived and wrote in community for one week on Pocantico’s verdant and historic campus in Tarrytown, NY. This June, the faculty and residents gathered for a first-ever virtual Residency Reunion Weekend. Residents wrote with the faculty in 4 distinct writing workshops and then came together for a public reading on June 7, held online and open to all.

Our residents shared news about poetry and prose publications (including new and forthcoming books!), graduate school acceptances, additional residencies, and new jobs and creative opportunities. We were so happy to reunite everyone and celebrate their many accolades and accomplishments.

The 2027 HVWC Writing Residency will take place on the Pocantico campus May 24-28. We are grateful to the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and the Pocantico Center for this vibrant and enriching partnership and look forward to returning with a second cohort of residents and faculty.
